Default Trapping Help Needed

I'm currently making a ranger, and i'm going to make him with a trapper setup

I know the echo-trapper build for UW solo, but hearing that you rarely come out with a profit, i decided against it

Is there any other easy-to-use builds and farmed mobs i can solo trap and (hopefully) make a reasonable profit from?

Thx if you can help

For me its either trapping, my warrior (that sucks at farming anything) and solo green farming that gets super boring when you try to learn how to solo another boss...

I might try make other proffesions soon, but for now i'm still a bit newish

If you're looking for cash, here's a few tips for you

I made 45k in 1 hour from R/Me UW solo trapping with the very Echo build you said isn't profitable. Yes this was POST loot-scaling.

However, you said your Warrior sucks at farming anything? FOOL!

I made 230k in 3 days (again AFTER loot-scaling was added) with the basic W/Rt UW build. I had the run down to 13 minutes. Its simple. Try to aggro and pull as MANY smites in each lure as you can. I tanked up to 20 without much trouble. Whilst the loot scaling makes this anti-profitable when you get dry runs, since you do so many runs so quickly, it balanced to ROUGHLY 4 ectos (24k) per hour, with gold drops/gems etc occasionally.

Failing that, you might want to look into one of the many popular builds for Eles, or the A/E build, for soloing the UW.

Hope this helps a little.

230k in 3 days. Post loot scaling. Wow.
I can go in with my E/Me, do 5 runs and come out with maybe 2 ecto?
Spend 1k to get in per run, come back with 700g per run .. a net loss of 300 gold.

Ahh and don't take all the mobs on at once. There's more drops in single mobs then there are in multiple mobs.

How did you deal with the damage from Zealous Fire??? I have trouble tanking 2 mobs (10 smites) because of THAT skill???

To the OP... Trapping can be very profitable if you do it right... I can solo alot of HM areas as a trapper, but it can take a very long time and does get a bit tiresome... e.g. If you get a group with a few war, necro, ranger in them and lay your traps... You lure them in and what tends to happen is the wars come in first, die on the traps and the ranged creatures are unharmed... So it takes 2 sets of traps to kill 1 grp, know what i mean?

Trapping UW with the R/ME echo dust build is much easier since the AI change in NM, aatxes stay in the traps a bit longer. I still prefer 55ing or E/me for UW tho... faster and more interesting...
